From Nayapul, 30 minutes walk brings us to Birethanti, situated at the confluence of Modi and Bhurung rivers, here the route divides. We take the West trail towards Ghorepani, a trading village situated at an elevation of (2860 m), where there is a wonderful view point Poon hill (3,210m) for panoramic Himalayan views of Annapurna Himalaya range. The sunrise view from Poon hill is simply stunning. From Ghorepani, the trail leads East to the village of Tadapani and on towards Chhomrong, from where we commence our journey into the Annapurna Base camp, follows the valley in between the huge ramparts of Himchuli & Machhapuchhre, eventually emerging into breathtaking Amphitheater, where the Annapurna mountains almost vertically above us.
